This lip balm is for everyone who experiences dry lips! I’m in love with this DIY because of its natural coconut scent! it is incredibly hydrating for your lips and help rejuvenate them all while giving my lips a really pretty and simple shine. It also allows you to have complete control over what goes into your lip balm – you can make sure it is 100% non-toxic!
- organic or virgin coconut oil
- a clean opaque container
- a microwaveable bowl (and a spoon)
- one of the following oils – argan oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, or olive oil
- optional – lipstick for a tint
To begin make sure that your container is clean and completely dry.
Now you can add the coconut oil into the container. I recommend filling the container most of the way up with coconut oil and then adding a few slices of lipstick on the top.
it is up to you if you add in the lipstick, personally, I do because I love the tint it gives to the gloss. You can put as little or as much lipstick as you would like.
Now transfer all contents o the container into a microwavable bowl and microwave for 15-30 seconds to melt the oil and lipstick.
Once they are almost all melted you add a few drops of your oil of choice for some extra hydration for your lips. You now mix it so there are not any lumps left, and pour it back into the container.
Now you can let it sit in the fridge for a few minutes so the coconut oil can harden.
Keep in mind that coconut oil melts around 76 degrees so make sure you keep it around room temperature. No leaving it in your car on summer days or it will melt.
Coconut oil is becoming more and more popular due to the fact that it is an organic beauty product that you can trust. So many women around the world each day are switching from harsh chemical-laced beauty products for softer and healthier products to introduce to their all organic skincare routine.
There are so many products that contain this wonderfully natural ingredient! But be careful, there are products out there that contain coconut oils but still contain harsh chemicals. So before you buy I strongly suggest you do your research and make sure whatever coconut oil beauty product you decide on it is completely clean of toxins.
